April and Some...

Wow times flies and this thing never seems to get updated! April is gone and we are already in May...rapidly approaching Avery's first birthday, ahhhh! She continues to grow like a weed down here. She's still saying "mama" "dada" "baba" etc. but has recently added clapping her hands, blowing kisses (although a messy process where she sticks her hole hand in her mouth before releasing it) and eating pretty much anything (had a quesadilla at Chipotle the other night!). We've been trying to take her in the pool a lot to get her used to the water and so far she's doing great. After making her back float and dunking her she gets really clingy which is rather cute. Here are some pictures of what's been going on!


This was a party where most the bluefield girls got together to wish chon (aka erin) and her husband farewell as they left to be missionaries in Brazil. It was a really great time of fellowship and prayer to send them off, and of course, Avery was the center of attention.


Auntie Cori came to visit for a night and us girls met up with a co-worker and her 5 year old daughter Ella for some swim time...really Avery's first introduction to the pool besides when she was a newborn.





As you can see by the wrinkly feet we were in there for a while but it was a very great time, and got us ready for our trip to Palm Springs a few weeks later!




These are pictures from Mother's Day...our first one! It wasn't everything we had hoped for (due to a series of uncontrolled events) but we had fun as a family and laughed a lot.


Here we are in Palm Springs at the Indian Resort...such an amazing time! I know Avery doesn't quite look like she's enjoying herself in this picture but she did...once again we're with Ella. Our time there was a much needed mini vacation...I spent most of it in an air conditioned conference room learning really great stuff! (it was a SCAPHON conference: southern CA association of pediatric hematology and oncology nurses). Andy was a total trooper and took care of the baby and Ella at times. We went in the pool (it had a sandy beach!) all three days (and nobody got sunburned!) and ate a lot of yummy food.

This week we're off to Oregon for Kathy and Roger's wedding, looking forward to seeing the Oregon folk! Love to all!
