It just so happened that Myla's first birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year (well now that the post is late this past year:) so as you can imagine it was a crazy time/day. I (Haley) worked every day that week except Thanksgiving and Andy worked Thanksgiving morning (he had a service). I stayed home with the girls in the morning and we played with some of Myla's new toys and then we headed over to my parents' house to meet up with the whole family and celebrate together. We had the usual 45ish people over to eat, it was a really yummy meal. It was even nice enough to eat outside! Then, around 6, some friends came over to help us celebrate Myla. My great friend Becca and I had worked really hard to create fondant elephant cupcake toppers which combined with some pretty pink flowers made Myla's "birthday corner" quite special. We ate (more) dessert which was not easy after a Thanksgiving meal and Myla helped open her presents. I couldn't believe how expressive she was with everything she opened...it was as if she was really excited. Here are some pictures from the day:)
