Quick Post!
Finally Haley was able to work a full 6 shifts in 2 weeks...it's been over 2 months since this has happened! Therefore we've all been very busy trying to settle in, entertain the very mobile little Avery Jean, and work all at the same time. We just wanted to let you all know that unfortunately, we had to put Peachy down on Thursday. She had been missing for 5 days before returning late Wed. night (around 11pm) very beat up. Haley was at work so Andy put her in the garage until Haley came home in the morning and then took her to the vet. She had multiple compound fractures in her leg and was missing a lot of hair, they thought she got hit by a car. They wanted us to pay not hundreds, but thousands of dollars to amputate her leg which we both decided would not be best for her or us, so we had her put to sleep. Not only was it a tough decision but people have been very judgmental, at Haley's work and at the vet which doesn't make the decision any easier! Not to mention the fact that we were there with her when she died, and she wouldn't die! They couldn't start an IV on her cause she was too dehydrated, so they had to give her a shot in her belly. They're supposed to die within 15minutes and despite the fact that they gave her a double dose, she continued to breath! The vet said "it's cause she's a fighter!" making us feel even more guilty. After 30 minutes of watching, we left with her still breathing! Ugh, it was not fun. But we're doing fine, Turtle walks around meowing constantly but she'll soon forget. Our place is coming along quite nicely and we're excited to have visitors, make your reservations now! That's all for now, videos to come soon!
